Knysna's Rastafarians (Archival Essay)

Knysna has a large Rastafarian community. During my stay there in 2002/3 I would often photograph the rastas and enjoy their spiritual advice, slow pace lifestyle and healthy living habits. Under the invitation and protection of Ras Micky I found the community to be friendly, hospitable, peace-loving and very active in the larger communty in terms of anti-crime, education and freedom of religion and association. Thanks again to Micky and all for allowing me into their homes to capture their world on film.

These photos were all shot on 35mm Illford and Kodacrome black & white film.
