Bakkes Images in final Wine Magazine

Bakkes Images was commissioned for the final time to photograph an article for Wine Magazine. It was sad to learn that the Sept/Oct 2011 issue would be the final in a long series of great publications and we were certain to miss Wine in the years to come. That said, it was a great honour for Bakkes Images to be established as a monthly photographic supplier to the publication and a pleasure to create the imagery the readers enjoyed.

For the final issue Bakkes Images was sent to Robertson to shoot a series of images at Rietvallei for a story on their prize Muscadel. Johnny Burger himself was there as our chaperon and advisor to the history, geography of the vineyards and expertise surrounding the estate.

I was very pleased with the results of the day. There were some spectacular portraits shot of J Burger on the day which I will treasure for a long time. Mr Burger's approach to the day of photography was very relaxed even though, through the miscommunication with the marketing department, he wasn't aware or prepared for our arrival. Nevertheless, the day was well spent in his company.

Back to Wine Magazine. Thanks again to all at the publications for the many photographic opportunities. Thanks for a wonderful read over the years and good luck on all future paths of the staff we've got to know and adore.
