The weather, however, was a bit of an issue. December in the Western Cape has long last seen so much rain and we could not find a sunny opening to shoot. So, I was reminded to take the risk and venture out into their vineyards on a grey and rainy morning and found exactly what I was looking for.
I enjoy bad weather photography. In the greys there is always hiding a range of subtle colours as seen in the Jason's Hill photos. Light rays shining through a break in the clouds, a rainbow surprise in contrast with the lush and saturated December vines all came together to deliver spectacular results.
